How to Find Beginner Pickleball Lessons Near Me

Sure, you could try to teach yourself how to play pickleball by watching a few YouTube videos. But why go it alone when there are plenty of places near you that offer lessons and playtime? Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, and for good reason! This fun and energizing game is easy to learn and can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. When you find local pickleball lessons, not only will you learn the basics quickly and easily, but you’ll also have a chance to meet other people who love the game as much as you do. If you’re looking for a way to get active and meet new people, pickleball is definitely the sport for you.

Pickleball Lessons Near Me

There are a few different ways to find local pickleball lessons and courts, but let’s just cut right to the point. Instead of Googling “pickleball lessons near me”, head directly to the source at the U.S. Pickleball Association. The pickleball club directory link hooks you up with clubs in every state. This is a helpful link to have when you’re traveling, too, so you can always find a local club.

For example, if I am taking a weekend trip in Colorado, I can put in the location and get information about the local pickleball clubs. Generally speaking, you can then find “pickleball lessons near me” through those local clubs.

Use Google Maps

One of the easiest ways to find pickleball lessons in your area is by using Google Maps. Simply open up the app on your phone or go to maps.google.com, type in “pickleball lessons near me,” and hit enter. As long as your location settings on your phone are accurate, you’ll see a list of businesses that offer pickleball lessons, along with their addresses and customer reviews. This is a great way to get an overview of your options and see what others have said about their experiences.

Check out Local Recreation Centers

Another great resource for finding pickleball lessons is your local recreation center. Oftentimes, these centers offer group classes for a variety of sports and activities, including pickleball. Give them a call or check out their website to see what they have to offer. You might be surprised at how many options are available right in your own backyard!

Parks Departments Love Pickleball Lessons

If you live in a smaller town, your parks department might be closely tied to other recreation centers (above). However, if it has its own programs, check with them for pickleball lessons in your community. Because pickleball is becoming more popular, your parks department might even offer simple pickleball clinics near you that are offered for a weekend or even just one day to give you the basics.

Find Pickleball Lessons by Word of Mouth

If you know anyone who’s into pickleball, chances are they’ll be able to point you in the right direction. Ask your friends, family members, neighbors, or co-workers if they know of any good places to take lessons. They may even be interested in joining you! Just remember, the best way to find a good pickleball instructor is by word-of-mouth recommendations.

If you don’t know anyone who plays the sport, use the U.S. Pickleball Places 2 Play Website to find local pickleball courts. Meander down to your local courts and ask people who are already playing where to find pickleball lessons in your community.

Why Should I Take Pickleball Lessons?

Pickleball is fun – have I said that enough on this website yet? It’s great exercise and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. I’m a middle-aged mom with kids from toddlers to teens. Pickleball is a sport the whole family can enjoy.

When we started playing, I could teach my kids the basic rules, but my form was definitely rusty. Besides learning the rules, having a few basic lessons will teach you proper stances and ways to hit the ball. This will help you be a more efficient player and also greatly reduce your chance of injury.

Pickleball is a great way to get active, meet new people, and have a whole lot of fun! With these tips, you’re sure to find pickleball lessons near you in no time. 1. Hi Luanne, Thanks for stopping by. Where are you located? I’ll see what I can dig up for you if you didn’t find anything on the national directories.

  1. I also did not find much in Illinois either. I know many of the park districts have clinic but not after work hours I was hoping this site would help me identify those offering eve classes.

    1. For specific times of day, I would search clubs in your area and then you’ll have to contact them directly for a current listing of classes. There’s a big difference in offerings between Chicago and Carbondale, are you looking for a specific area?

  2. No results for me either! I live in Lewiston, Maine, and want to get some lessons for me and my son and grandson. Please help!!!

    1. Oh, gosh, I love Maine! I did a separate search for you to try and get you some answers. It looks like there were Pickleball programs at one time through the recreation department, but I couldn’t find any local info online. Have you already called them and asked if they know of local lessons? If not, I’d start there. Otherwise, there are lessons in Falmouth but I know that’s a bit of a ways from Lewiston. IT might be worth contacting the pickleball club in Falmouth, though, and see if they have any connections in Lewiston. If there’s truly nothing available, I’d definitely put in a request through your local City Parks & Recreation department that they bring those programs back. 🙂 let me know how it goes. https://www.pickleballmaine.com/
